A pickup truck driver died after apparently rear-ending a Maryland Transit Administration bus Monday in the 3100 block of Washington Boulevard, Baltimore City Police said.

Sven James Kirtz, 40, of the 300 block of South Mount Street, was rushed to a nearby Shock Trauma unit where he later died. Police said the bus driver and two passengers were taken to local hospitals with various injuries, none life threatening.

Police said Kirtz was driving a Ford F250 at 6:30 p.m. Monday when the vehicle apparently rear-ended the MTA bus as it stopped to let a passenger off and struck a light pole. The accident is under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at (410)-396-2606.
