A 33-year-old man is facing attempted murder charges in connection with the shooting of a 2-year-old boy that occurred on Saturday, police said.
Baltimore City police identified the suspect as Javon Johnson.
The shooting occurred at 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of West Franklin Street, according to police.
Police were called to an area hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim. When officers arrived, they found doctors treating a 2-year-old boy for a gunshot wound to his stomach.
According to investigators, the victim was riding in a car with several family members when he was shot. Police said the motive behind the shooting was road rage.
