Two local men were arrested for allegedly shooting a man during a robbery on Melissa Court in Owings Mills last week, police said.

Brandon Leon Nyle Jackson, 23, of the 3300 block of Ripple Road in Milford Mill and his cousin, Phillip Lermell Jackson, 23, of the 3700 block of Boarman Avenue in Baltimore City were both charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, armed robbery and firearms charges, police said.

The Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit said the Jackson cousins pursued the victim to Melissa Court where Brandon Jackson struck the victim with a gun. Jackson fired the gun during the altercation, and the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

A woman heard the gunshot and exited her home. Brandon Jackson aimed the gun at her and stole her cell phone, police said. Both Jacksons fled the scene in a vehicle driven by Phillip Jackson, police said.

The cousins remain held on no bail status at the Baltimore County Detention Center following bail review hearings.
