The Baltimore County Fire and Police departments will conduct a training exercise at Towson High School next Monday.

As early as 6:30 a.m. and as late as 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, police officers and firefighters will conduct mock shooting and simulated mass casualties at the school, located at 69 Cedar Ave, off of York Road.  Emergency response vehicles will be present during those times, officials said.

Schools in Baltimore County will be closed for Rosh Hashana.

The simulated events are meant to help employees practice their operation tactics as well as evaluate their response plans, officials said. Live weapons will not be used during this training.

Roads in the area will not be closed to the public, but motorists and residents are advised not to be near school grounds during that time.
