Baltimore County Police were investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian at Eastern Boulevard and Volz Avenue in Essex on Friday.
Robert Thomas Baker, 55, was rushed to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital, where he died. Police said Baker stepped off the median of the road into oncoming traffic at 8:01 p.m. and was struck by an oncoming Kia Rio.
The driver remained at the scene, police said.
