One woman was killed and a man was seriously injured when the car they were driving collided with a utility pole on Raphel Road in Kingsville Wednesday evening, police said.
The female passenger who died in the crash was identified as Samantha Jean Muehleisen, 24, of the 600 block of Yorkshire Drive in Edgewood, police said. The male driver was in critical condition at a local hospital.
Police said the Chrysler 300 was traveling northbound on Raphel Road near the intersection of Bradshaw Road when it crossed the oncoming lane of traffic and hit a BGE pole and a tree, causing the vehicle to catch fire. The car then caught fire, police said.
