A 21-year-old was shot once in the upper body while walking on Midego Drive near Banca Place in Middle River early Sunday morning, county police said.
Police said the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
Witnesses heard the shooting and found the victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the upper body at around 2 a.m., police said. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive, according to officials.
Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Anyone with information in regards to the shooting is asked to contact police by calling 410-307-2020.
