A 43-year-old man was being held by Baltimore City Police Thursday on first-degree murder charges in the shooting death of a 39-year-old man in late March.

The Warrant Task Force arrested Lorenzo Thomas on Wednesday in the 4400 block of Garrison Boulevard without incident.

Police said Thomas approached Tyree Lee, 39, of the 3800 block of Dolfield Avenue while Lee was walking through the 4600 block of Wallington Avenue on March 27. Thomas fired at Lee, chasing him into the 3900 block of Penhurst Avenue and fatally shooting him, police said.

Homicide detectives quickly identified Thomas as the suspect.

Thomas was being held in Central Booking until an appearance before a court commissioner.
