Three Baltimore City men were arrested last week in connection with a series of armed commercial robberies that occurred across multiple jurisdictions since November, police said.
Dontrell Eric Glover, 27, of the 1800 of West Saratoga Street, Milek Anton Rankin, 25, of the 2500 block of Hollins Street, and Marquis Davon Moore, 32, of the 100 block of Thomas Guidera Circle were charged with two counts each of armed robbery, robbery, and first-degree assault, with additional charges pending additional investigation, police said.
Two of the suspects were arrested in Baltimore when police spotted their car at a city gas station while the third was picked up in Howard County after he fled the initial scene, police said.
Baltimore County Police Chief Terrance Sheridan said several departments were involved in the investigation, including Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County and the FBI’s Baltimore field office. He also thanked Howard County officers for assisting with the last arrest.
“When there are crimes committed across jurisdictions it takes serious commitment and cooperation from agencies to bring a successful conclusion to those investigations,” Sheridan said. “That is exactly what we had in this case, which has brought an end to this crime spree and a sense of security back to our communities.”
Police said the robberies began on Nov. 28, 2018 and ended on Friday. They allege that the suspects committed 18 armed robberies in Baltimore County, at least four in Anne Arundel and at least 54 in Baltimore City. Additional robberies are still being investigated, police said.
Police said the suspects would typically enter a business during evening hours wearing masks and “unique clothing.” They would then display handguns and steal cash from the store register, along with merchandise.
The robberies ended last Friday evening when Baltimore County robbery detectives responded to a call for an armed robbery at a McDonald’s in the 6000 block of Liberty Road, near Powder Mill Park.
Detectives located the suspect’s vehicle stopped at a gas station just inside Baltimore City in the 2000 block of North Forest Park Avenue.
Police said Glover and Rankin fled the vehicle on foot as detectives approached. Both were apprehended with the help of police dogs and an aviation unit, police said.
According to police, Moore got into the car and fled the scene. Unmarked police units followed the suspect’s vehicle into Howard County.
Although they initially lost sight of the vehicle, police said, officers eventually located it parked in the 10000 block of Daystar Court in Columbia. With the cooperation of the Howard Police Department, they were able to take him into custody, police said.
All three suspects remain held on no bail status following bail review hearings yesterday.
