Four teenage boys were in police custody in connection with the sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman earlier this month, Baltimore City Police said Saturday.
The youth allegedly followed the woman at 10 p.m. Feb. 6, as she left the MTA bus at the 300 block of North Fulton Avenue. Police said the youth forced the woman into a nearby yard. One teen held her at gunpoint while the three sexually assaulted her until neighbors stopped the assault. The teens ran away.
On Feb. 14, detectives arrested three 14-year-olds identified as Wilmer Ramos of the 800 block of N. Monroe Street, Phillip Worrell of the 1800 block of Riggs Avenue and Nile Campbell of the 2500 block of Harlem Avenue. All three teens were charged as adults with first- and second-degree rape, and were held at Central Booking and Intake Facility, police said.
The fourth boy, a 12-year-old, was charged as a juvenile with first-degree rape, third- and fourth-degree sexual offense, conspiracy kidnapping, conspiracy robbery, perverted practice and handgun violations.
Baltimore City school police contacted the Sex Offense Detectives after the assault was reported with pictures of the suspects. School police verified two of the adolescent suspects and shortly thereafter, the other two also were identified.
