A 56-year-old man was shot in the lower torso at Frederick Douglas High School last Friday, city police said. The victim was treated at an area hospital.
The suspect, a 25-year-old man, was quickly taken into custody by police.
Police said detectives believe the shooting, reported at noon, took place in the school lobby and was the result of an argument between the suspect and the victim – a school employee.
School police officers were working inside the school at the time of the shooting, police said. No students were harmed, and the school was placed on lockdown.
Detectives from the Baltimore Police Citywide Shooting Unit are continuing to investigate this incident.
