A sedan service driver was recovering in an area hospital after being shot by his passenger during an attempted robbery in White Marsh early Saturday, Baltimore County Police said Sunday.
The driver picked up a fare in Baltimore and drove two men to the 6000 block of Marquette Road, police said. Upon arrival, the passengers produced a handgun and attempted to rob the driver.
After a brief struggle, the driver was shot in his lower body, and the two fares fled the scene, police said.
The sedan driver re-entered his vehicle and attempted to drive home, striking a tree along the way. He eventually made it to a home in Baltimore City, where a resident called 911, police said.
