A 30-year-old Baltimore City man was being held without bail after a carjacking at a gas station on Paca Street, police said.

Irvin Hudson, 30, was taken into custody after he fled from a white 2015 Honda Accord and hid under a truck. Hudson and an unknown suspect stole the car on Nov. 30 from a gas station at 427 N. Paca Street and drove it in the area of Lexington and Smallwood streets.

Officers in the Mobile Metro Unit spotted the vehicle and requested help from additional patrol units and its air patrol, known as Fox Trot. The car was followed until it was stopped in the 700 block of Edgewood Street, where Hudson abandoned the vehicle and discarded an unknown object.

Hudson, who is prohibited from possessing a firearm, had discarded a 9mm handgun before hiding. Officers recovered the gun, along with suspected marijuana and an additional 9mm magazine from inside the Honda’s passenger door. All seized items were submitted as evidence, police said.

Hudson has been charged with armed carjacking.
