Police say they have released a man who was arrested and charged in connection with recent biased-based graffiti discovered in the dorm bathrooms of Goucher College.
Fynn Ajani Arthur, 21, of the unit block of Spring Street in Brunswick, Maine, a student and resident at Goucher College, was charged with two counts of Malicious Destruction of Property, police said.
According to police, the first incident occurred on Nov. 14, when a student found swastikas, racially motivated threats and room numbers of dorms that were occupied by black students written in permanent marker on a first-floor bathroom stall.
Police said Thursday morning around 2 a.m. another incident occurred in the same building on a second-floor bathroom stall, where swastikas and “KKK,” as well as the names of four black students, were written.
Arthur was released on his own recognizance Thursday afternoon following a bail review hearing, police said.
According to police, the case will be sent to the State’s Attorney’s Office for Baltimore County for additional review and designation of whether there is criteria for prosecution as a hate related crime.
