A billboard will be posted on York Road near Dunstans Road on Monday by a woman desperately searching for the murderer of her twin, the Baltimore County Police Department said Friday.

Jennifer LeCornu Carrieri has been searching for information about the 1996 shooting death of her sister, Joann “Jody” Elizabeth LeCornu. She will post the billboard at 5722 York Road, officers said.

Police said that Joann LeCornu was shot in the back on March 2, 1996, while seated in her car on a parking lot of the Drumcastle Shopping Center in the 6300 block of York Road. She apparently drove her car onto the lot of the York Road Plaza, officers said.

Witnesses said the murderer followed LeCornu’s car into the Plaza lot and removed an unknown item from inside the car. He then drove south on York Road in a white BMW. The man seen leaving the lot was described as a 200- to 220-pound African American man, 5 feet 10 inches to 6-feet-1 inch tall. He also was described as wearing a green fatigue-style coat. He would now be in his mid-40s to early 50s, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Metro Crime Stoppers by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP or texting MCS, the message to 274637. Police said that Metro Crime Stoppers are offering rewards for information in connection to the murder.
