Pedestrian dies after being hit by car mirror in Pikesville

A local man was killed Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a car in Pikesville, police said.

Leonid Isaakovich, 83, of 3600 Fords Lane, was attempting to cross DeRisio Lane at Sudbrook Lane when he was hit by the mirror of a 2009 Lincoln Town Car traveling southbound through the intersection, police said.

The driver stopped at the stop sign at the intersection, then continued through the intersection when Isaakovich began to cross, police said.

The incident occurred around 2:51 p.m.

Isaakovich was transported to Sinai Hospital by Baltimore County Fire Department Medic  and died just before 4 p.m., police said.

The driver was not injured and remained at the scene of the crash.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team are continuing their investigation into this crash.
