For the second time in less than a month, Baltimore County Fire Department members have been asked to assist with hurricane relief efforts.
This time, seven firefighters are helping with Hurricane Micheal relief efforts on the Gulf Coast. They were identified as search and rescue specialists, Michael Szczesniakowsi and Brandon Watkins, both fire lieutenants; and, Steve Yealdhall and Shawn Drees, both fire apparatus driver operators. They are on their way to Panama City, Florida as part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Pennsylvania Task Force No. 1.
The other three fire department members are: Fire Capt. Jack Amrhein, EMS Lt. Rick Blubaugh and EMS Lt. Kevin Palmer. They are working with the Maryland Disaster Medical Assistance Team, which provides medical care to hurricane victims.
