The Baltimore County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two burglars involved in separate home thefts in the Middleborough area of the Essex Precinct.

A burglar was reported walking in the backyard and attempting to enter the garage of a home in the 1600 block of Williams Avenue in Essex on Oct. 2 around 12:35 p.m. Surveillance cameras showed the burglar leaving the garage with a sledge hammer, which police said probably was used to gain entry into the house through a window. Cash and jewelry were reported stolen.

Another burglar y was reported on Sept. 12 around 11:30 p.m., when cameras showed a man entering an unlocked screened-in porch and taking a few soda cans from a home on the 2300 block of Farringdon Road in Pikesville.

Police said several similar burglaries have taken place in the Middleborough area of the Essex Precinct since early September. Burglars usually enter windows of homes from the morning to early afternoon, police said. Other burglarized homes include one on Hilltop Avenue and another on Windjammer Court.

Please contact the Baltimore County Police Burglary Unit by calling 410-307-2020 with any information about the burglars.
