LA Suspect PhotoA suspect connected with two homicides in Dundalk was located and apprehended in Kenner, Louisiana, by U.S. Marshals Service this morning, police said.

Tavon Powell, 37, was the main suspect in a fatal Dundalk shooting on Aug. 27 that resulted in the deaths of Gabrielle Marie Paugh, 26, of the unit-block of Wise Ave., Dundalk, and Aaron Michael Wearins, 34, of the 3000-block of McElderry St., East Baltimore, police said.

Baltimore County police said they contacted the U.S. Marshals Service after their investigation lead them to believe Powell fled Maryland. Police said U.S. Marshals Service developed information that Powell was staying at a location in Kenner, Louisiana, outside of New Orleans.

Powell’s location was confirmed this morning and he was arrested by U.S. Marshals Service, police said.

The Baltimore County Homicide Unit will be sending detectives to Louisiana to further the homicide investigation and information regarding Powell’s flight from Maryland, police said.
