An Essex woman was fatally shot Sept. 6 when she left an S&S Lounge on Belair Road around 8:40 p.m., police said.

Tracey Carrington of the 1100 block of Glemsford Road was shot multiple times as she and a friend were getting into her parked car on Overlea Avenue, police said. According to police, the unknown shooter approached as Carrington opened the car door, then fled in a dark vehicle after firing the shots.

Police and EMS arrived at the scene where Carrington was pronounced dead. Her friend sustained no injuries, police said.
