An elderly Baltimore woman was pronounced dead on the morning of Aug. 30 due to an apparent assault, city police said.
Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Winchester Street where 83-year-old Dorothy Mae Neal was found unresponsive in her apartment, according to a police report.
Neal was transported to University of Maryland Hospital for treatment before she was pronounced dead.
