A 35-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon after he allegedly stabbed another man in Cockeysville, police said.

Police said Christopher Maurice Johnson was charged with first degree assault.

The stabbing took place in a Baltimore County landfill in Cockeysville, where police said they were called after an argument between Johnson and another man, both of whom are truck drivers.

According to the police report, surveillance footage from the landfill revealed that the confrontation began after one driver cut in front of the other to enter the area first.

The altercation began as strictly verbal, police said, but turned physical when Johnson punched the other driver. A passenger who was accompanying the victim rushed to his coworker’s aid and was subsequently stabbed in the abdomen by Johnson, police said.

Johnson was arrested at the scene and charged with first- and second-degree assault and use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime.
