JodiLeCornuBaltimore County police say they are continuing to search for a suspect in connection with a 22-year-old murder.

Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the death of Joann “Jody” LeCornu, who died after being shot in the back, police said.

On March 4, 1996, police responded to a shooting at the 6300 block of York Road, where they found 23-year-old LeCornu inside her car suffering from a gunshot wound. LeCornu was shot in the back while seated in her car parked in the Drumcastle Shopping Center, according to police reports.

After suffering the gunshot wound, LeCornu drove her car onto York Road leading into the lot of York Road Plaza. The male suspect followed LeCornu’s car into the Plaza and removed an unknown item from her car, police said. The man drove away from the scene heading southbound on York Road in a white BMW, police said.

According to police, witnesses described the suspect as a black male with a stocky build wearing a green army style coat. Baltimore County police seek the public’s assistance in solving the murder.
