A 23-year-old Baltimore man has been charged with first-degree murder while he was in custody for weapons and drugs found during a raid on his home, police said Monday.
Gilbert M. Gardner of the 3700 block of Lyndale Avenue was charged with murder while being held at the Central Booking Intake Facility. Originally, he was arrested and charged Feb. 15 when police searched his home and found five handguns and suspected narcotics.
Police charged Gardner with the murder of Sadik Griffin, 22, who was discovered on Feb. 13 in the 3800 block of Elmley Avenue. Griffin suffered from gunshot wounds to the chest, police said. He was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital.
Gardner is being held without bail, police said.
