Baltimore County police are reaching out to the public for help in solving an assault that occurred in Rosedale last December.

A 14-year-old Rosedale resident, whose name has not been released, was returning home from school just after 1 p.m. with a relative when he was assaulted at the 4700-block of Stellabrooke Lane, police said.

The teenager  was approached by a suspect and struck several times with a baseball bat. After assaulting the child, the suspect fled the area, police said.

The child was transported to a local hospital, where he was described as in serious condition.

Detectives have continued the investigation, but are unable to identify a suspect at this time. The Baltimore County police are asking for help from the public with information concerning the incident.

Anyone with information about this crime can contact Baltimore County Police at (410)307-2020 or call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
