A 17-year-old Baltimore teen is being held in Central Booking today in connection with the armed carjacking of a 2016 BMW, Citywide Robbery detectives said.
Police arrested Da’quan Johnson on Monday and charged him as an adult with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed carjacking, handgun violations and various degrees of assault. He is currently being held without bail, said members of the Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT).
The suspect, along with two additional unknown black males, crashed into the back of a 51-year-old woman’s BMW in the 1200 block of Key Highway. They forced her out of her car at gunpoint after pretending to show concern for the damages, police said.
Johnson had the key of the victim’s car in his pocket when police found him. Several other stolen vehicles were found in the immediate area, authorities said.
