A Jarrettsville man is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of a 63-year-old woman.

Kenneth Kyle Quick, 44, was charged Monday in the beating death of Athena Dardamanis. Baltimore County homicide detectives said Dardamanis was reported missing on Thursday. She was found beaten in her home in the 8600 block of Trumps Mill Road.

An autopsy conducted Friday determined that Dardamanis died from “multiple traumatic injuries to the upper body.”

Quick, who lives at 1300 block of Knopp Road in Jarrettsville, had stayed at Dardamanis’ home recently and allegedly owed her a large sum of money, authorities said. Dardamanis had told friends that she wanted to collect, just before her disappearance, said detectives.

Quick is being held without bail pending a trial.
