The Maryland State Police have issued a silver alert on behalf of the county for a missing Catonsville man.

William Zappie, 88, was last seen leaving his home in the 200 block of Stonewall Road in Catonsville at 1 p.m. on Friday in his tan 2002 Buick Regal with Maryland registration plate EWD176, police said.

Zappie was wearing a light blue polo shirt, blue jeans, and black suspenders, police said. He is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighs about 168 pounds, and has brown eyes and short white hair.

Zappie has no known destination and was believed to be going for a short drive. He has become disoriented while driving on one previous occasion and was later located in Ohio, police said.

Anyone with any information on Zappie is asked to contact Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020.
