KyleArmstrong_GunStashFound_PictureA city man was arrested last night after police said they found 11 firearms in his vehicle.

Darin Sympton, 28, of the 700 block of Pinecone Avenue was arrested  at around 8:40 p.m. for firearm violations and illegal gambling, police said.

Officers obtained information from an anonymous source who told them that Sympton was stashing firearms in two vehicles, police said. Officials said the vehicles were located in the area of the 2200 block of Sydney Avenue.

Officers used the information to locate the vehicles, then obtained search warrants for them, police said.

A further investigation of the vehicles led the officers to seize 11 firearms and ammo, police said. They said the firearms consisted of multiple handguns, shotguns and rifles. The guns and ammo were collected for evidence.

Sympton will face several new firearm charges on top of charges he faces in another case, police said.  He remains at Central Booking, officials said.
