Baltimore County police are investigating a hit-and-run accident near Eastern Boulevard and Stemmers Run Road in Essex that left a man dead Monday.

The preliminary investigation indicated that around 12:48 a.m. a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Eastern Boulevard as it crossed Steamers Run Road.

Kyle Emmanuel Marshall, 23, of the 1500 block of Dolittle Road in Essex, was crossing Eastern Boulevard with his mother when he was struck and killed by the vehicle, police said.

Baltimore County EMS personnel pronounced Marshall dead at the scene.  His mother was unharmed during the incident, police said.

Police believe the suspect vehicle is a purple 2007 Hyundai Elantra or a similar type of vehicle. Police said the vehicle is likely to have damage to the front driver side area, grill and windshield.

Anyone who has information of this suspect or vehicle is encouraged to call police at 410-307-2020.
