A 28-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody in Connecticut Friday for the March 11 murder of a man in Baltimore, police said.

Andrew Nurse was charged with first-degree murder and will be transported back to Baltimore when extradition proceedings have ended, police said.

He was wanted in the connection with the shooting death of William Lee Lesane last month, police said.

Officers were called to the 100 Block of West Hamburg Street in South Baltimore at 6:25 a.m. on March 11, where they found Lesane with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.

Lesane was transported to an area hospital, where he died from the wound, police said.

Baltimore City Police said the Vernon Police Department and Connecticut State Police Department assisted in finding Nurse.
