A 17-year-old suspect was shot while attempting to break into a car Wednesday morning in the 100 block of Hazel Avenue in Halethorpe, police said.

According to police, a 44-year-old man noticed a suspect breaking into his car and went outside with a rifle to confront the suspect. Police said the suspect swung a knife or screwdriver and the man shot the suspect once.
