A 34-year-old Pikeville man has been identified as the alleged serial bank robber who held up seven banks in two months, and three banks this past week, police said.

Charles Alexander Coleman was apprehended in Ocean City in the early afternoon of Nov. 23, police said. Police said he had been wanted by the FBI’s Baltimore field office, which had offered a $5,000 reward for his capture.

Coleman was charged with felony robbery, theft and second-degree misdemeanor assault, police said.

Police said the robberies began on Oct. 19 at a BB&T Bank in Pikesville. They said banks in Parkville, Harbor East, Fells Point and Locust Point were also robbed.

The most recent robbery was at a Wells Fargo in Linthicum on Nov. 19, where Coleman was captured on surveillance cameras, police said.
