A Baltimore City assistant state’s attorney has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography by the Baltimore County Police, officials said.

Patrick Michael Moran, 39, of the 8900 block of Kilkenney Circle in Nottingham, was taken into custody at about 5 a.m. on Oct. 24, police said. They said they had received a tip and found numerous images and videos of child pornography after issuing a search and seizure warrant.

Police said they also discovered computer equipment and digital storage devices.

A tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led the police to Moran, where they discovered he is a Baltimore assistant state’s attorney assigned to the juvenile division.

Moran was taken into custody and processed, then later released on $150,000 bail.
