Baltimore County police have charged a man with first-degree murder in connection with the disappearance of a woman in 2010.

Travis Eugene Elleby, 30, of Windsor Mill was arrested last week, police said, adding that they believe the suspect killed the woman – who they say was his girlfriend – and disposed of the body.

A Baltimore County grand jury indicted Elleby of first-degree murder after a case presentation on Sept.7, police said. Elleby is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to officials.

Cherice Ragins was reported missing by her mother in February 2010, police said.

Ragins was last seen leaving her residence located on the 3600 block of North Rogers Avenue in Baltimore to go to her boyfriend’s house, police said.

Ragins’ body has not yet been found.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call police at 410-307-2020.
