Baltimore County police have charged two suspects with the sexual assault of two men that occurred in separate incidents in March.

Detectives identified Shakir Agyei Mitchell, 23, of the 200 block of South Penn Street in York, Pennsylvania, and James D. Johnson, 27, of the 3000 block of Chesterfield Avenue in Baltimore as the suspects responsible for the crimes, police said.

Both were charged with first-degree assault, first-degree sex offense, and related charges. They are being held without bail, police said.

Police said the first incident occurred in the early morning of March 6 when a Dundalk man was standing on the corner of East Monument Street and Milton Avenue after leaving work at a hair salon. He offered $10 to two men in a dark SUV in exchange for driving him home, according to police.

Police said that after the three men arrived at their destination, the driver threatened the victim with a handgun and all three men entered the victim’s home.

Once inside, the driver restrained, assaulted, and sexually assaulted the victim, police said, adding that the passenger stole a television, clothing and money from the home.

The second incident occurred on March 7, when police responded to a Woodlawn home at 4:29 a.m. where an adult male victim had his hands and feet restrained, police said.

According to police, the victim had invited a man he had met online to his home. When the man arrived, he was accompanied by a second man.

After entering the victim’s home, the two men displayed handguns. The men restrained the victim and one of the men sexually assaulted him, police said. The two men stole a game system and money before leaving the premises, police said.

Detectives are still investigating the incidents and are determining whether Mitchell and Johnson are connected to any similar crimes.

Anyone with information on these incidents, other similar incidents, or either suspect are asked to call police at 410-307-2020.
