The driver of a Toyota Solara was killed last week after crashing in Baltimore, police said.

Donte James, 31, of the 900 block of Bethune Road, lost control of his vehicle at about 12:15 a.m. last Tuesday, striking two parking meters that sent his vehicle airborne and crashing into the front window of Bay Island Crab Shack, police said. The restaurant is in the 1900 block of West Pratt Street.

Police said James was pronounced deceased at Shock Trauma.

The front passenger of the vehicle, a 30-year-old male, was transported to an area hospital and is listed in stable condition, police said.

Baltimore City’s Accident Investigation Detectives will be investigating the incident.
