A man who allegedly broke into a Parkville house yesterday was shot multiple times by the homeowner and sent to the hospital for treatment, Baltimore County police said.

The suspect now faces charges connected to the incident but has yet to be officially charged, police said.

Police said the homeowner’s actions will be reviewed by the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office when the police investigation is complete.

Police did not give the health condition of the man who was shot.

The incident occurred at about t 2:26 a.m., when police responded to a shots-fired call from the 2300 block of Harford Hills Road.

Once officers arrived to the scene, they met the homeowner who told them he just shot the intruder.

Police said their initial investigation indicates that the man was at home when the suspect kicked in the front door and said, “I’m in your house. I’m coming to get you.”

The man armed himself with a handgun and shut himself in one of the home’s rooms. The suspect then kicked in the door to the room and the homeowner shot at the suspect multiple times and fled from the home, police said.

Officers said the suspect, who was found in the home, was taken to the nearest hospital to be treated.

Baltimore County Police Department Violent Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate this incident.
