Baltimore County police are looking for the driver of a 2001 Mercedes E430 that was involved in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday night that killed a pedestrian and injured five others.

Police said the accident occurred at 8:25 p.m. at the intersection of Liberty Road and Essex Road in Lochearn.

The Mercedes was heading west on Liberty Road approaching Sedgemoor Road when it struck an adult male pedestrian in the center lane and continued driving, police said.

Continuing on Liberty Road, police said the Mercedes lost control and hit a 2014 Honda Accord, which was traveling east and ran into a MVA bus head on.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene, police said.

The driver exited the vehicle and left the scene immediately following the crash, police said. The driver is believed to be a male, but has not been identified yet, according to police.

The driver of the MTA bus, three bus passengers and the driver of the Honda Accord were transported to the hospital.

Police have identified the pedestrian who was killed and said that more information will be released later.

This crash is currently being investigated by the Baltimore County Police Crash Team.

Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call police at 410-307-2020.
