Police find dead man on Orchard Street

An unidentified male was killed Sunday after being shot in the 500 block of Orchard Street in Baltimore, police said.

Officers were called to the scene around 7:13 p.m. to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the male victim, who was pronounced dead by medics on the scene, police said.

Nearby witnesses told police that dirt bikes were in the area at the time of the shooting and two individuals were taken into custody by homicide detectives as potential witnesses for the investigation, police said.

The victim has yet to be positively identified by police and is officially listed as a John Doe, police said.

Police are asking the public to contact citywide homicide detectives if they have any information regarding the shooting. The public can call 410-396-2100 or if they wish to remain anonymous, they can call the tip line at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
