Eight people were injured in a car crash in Dundalk Saturday that involved an SUV and an EMS vehicle carrying four volunteer personnel, police said.

According to the police, the EMS personnel were members of the Lansdowne Volunteer Fire Company.

One of the volunteers had to be cut from the vehicle and transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Unit suffering from serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police said the other three EMS providers were released from Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Saturday night.

The occupants of the SUV, which included two children, were transferred to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The car crash occurred at Wise Avenue and Lynch Road at about 8 p.m. when the EMS unit was en route to a motor crash, police said. It was not carrying a patient at the time.

Police said The Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team is investigating this ongoing incident.
