Man shot by officer now faces drug charges

Baltimore County police released the name of the man who was shot by an officer on Feb. 18 and said he has been charged with drug-related offenses.

George Greenwood Willinger III, 37, of the 6800 block of Leslie Ave in Essex has been charged with possession of CDS with intent to distribute, a handgun violation and other charges, police said.

Police said Willinger remains hospitalized, but he will be held without bail on the charges.

Police said they also recovered baggies containing a white rock substance, yellow and orange pills, and an “owe sheet” from Willinger. (See previous report here.)
