A 54-year-old man was charged with first-degree murder in an altercation with his brother in Dundalk on Feb. 3, according to Baltimore County Police.

Police said Gary Burns repeatedly stabbed Lawrence Burns, 57, in their home on the 7600 block of Gum Road.

An officer on patrol said he encountered Gary Burns on North Point Road with a cut on his hand. Gary Burns told the officer that he got in a fight with his brother.

Lawrence Burns was found with multiple stab wounds and other injuries when officers arrived in his home, police said.

The brothers were transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where Lawrence Burns died, according to police.

Gary Burns is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

The Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.
