Eight students and a teacher were taken to the hospital Friday morning for an evaluation of possible exposure to pepper spray, police said.
According to Police, a 12-year-old seventh-grade student brought a small can of pepper to spray to school that accidentally discharged at Deep Creek Middle School.
Police said the pepper spray container was taken as evidence and any charges against the student will depend on the outcome of the investigation.
The school was evacuated for a time, but students were allowed back into the school around 9:45 a.m., police said.
Police said, about 21 pieces of Baltimore County Fire Department equipment were used during this incident.
