A man was injured after he was shot in the upper body by one of two assailants who attempted to rob him in Owings Mills Wednesday night, police said.

Police said the incident began at about 9 p.m. when the victim was near Dolfield Road and Lakeside Drive. Two suspects approached him and demanded money, police said, adding that one of the suspects shot the victim when he ran to a friend’s house.

The victim walked into a local hospital at about 6 a.m. Thursday seeking treatment for a gunshot wound, police said. The victim is expected to survive.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Baltimore County Police or Metro Crime Stoppers.
