A Baltimore County schoolteacher has been charged with second-degree rape, sexual assault of a minor and other related charges, police said.

Taki Kentae Lewis, 39, of the 9500 block of Orbitan Court in Parkville was charged by Baltimore City Police of having sex with a 15-year old Parkville girl, whose identity has not been released, in his home. The victim’s age makes her unable to consent to any to sex with Lewis.

Police said their investigation revealed the Lewis and the victim consumed alcoholic beverages that he supplied. Lewis took the victim to the living room where they had intercourse and sexual contact multiple times throughout the evening, police said. Police said the victim was inebriated and unable to fend off sexual advances.

Lewis is a family friend of the victim, whose mother sent her to Lewis’ home for help with a school assignment, police said.

Police responded to an area hospital for a sex offense report around 3 p.m. on Nov. 10. After being examined by hospital doctors, police said they took the victim to a secure location to be interviewed.

Lewis is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $400,000 bail. The time of Lewis’ arrest was not given.

Lewis teaches at National Academy Foundation and has been placed on administrative leave following the charges, reported WBAL. According to police, the victim does not attend National Academy Foundation. At this time no other victims have been identified.

The case is still under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crimes Against Children Unit.
