Baltimore County police have identified the 4-year-old boy involved in a fatal pedestrian car crash that occurred at about noon Sunday in Dundalk.

Benjamin Grimm of the 1900 block Jasmine Road in Dundalk was riding his bike in an alley behind that road when he was struck by a tow truck and was later pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Grimm’s injuries were not specified.

Police said John McGainey, 67, of the 1900 block of Jasmine Road, was driving the tow truck that allegedly struck Grimm and was not injured. McGainey remained at the scene of the crash, police said.

Charges have not been filed against McGainey or anyone else. The Baltimore County Police Crash Team is still investigating what led to the fatal incident, which they said is expected to take several weeks.

When the investigation is complete, police said a final report will be sent to the Baltimore County State Attorney’s Office, which will determine whether charges will be filed for the death of Grimm.
