A one-year-old boy was killed at a bus stop on Monrovia Road in Baltimore Sunday night when a driver in a Mercedes-Benz being chased by a county police cruiser spun out of control, authorities said.

The child was taken to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Emergency Room, where he died from his injuries, police said. Officials said the driver of the Mercedes, who has not been identified, was taken to Shock Trauma with minor injuries. Charges against the driver are pending, police said.

The incident began at 9:07 p.m., police said, when the driver of a Mercedes-Benz hit a Baltimore County police car on Pulaski Highway and immediately fled the scene.

Police chased the driver into Baltimore City. The driver of the Mercedes hit a Volvo turning onto Monrovia Road, causing it  to spin and run into a bus stop, hitting the one-year-old who was in a stroller, city police said.
