A 56-year-old Baltimore City woman died from injuries she received Tuesday morning when she was struck by a car while crossing Security Boulevard with another pedestrian, police said.

Baltimore County fire and police units responded to the intersection of Security Boulevard and Gwynn Oak Avenue in Woodlawn just after 6 a.m. to find that Mary Bailey and a male pedestrian had been struck by a Toyota Prius.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicated that Bailey and the male had been crossing in an unlit area without a crosswalk and that the driver of the Prius stayed at the scene of the accident.

Bailey was taken to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and was later declared dead, police said. The male was taken to the Sinai Trauma Center for treatment. His current condition is unknown.
