Drivers should expect road closures and detours in Hunt Valley on Sunday due to the 23rd Annual Susan G. Komen Maryland Race for the Cure.

Police said the following routes would be closed to traffic:

  • Westbound on Shawan Road at York Road after 5:45 a.m.
  • The exit to the Towne Centre parking lot after 6 a.m.

Police said all southbound traffic on York Road will be allowed as far as the Giant Food’s parking lot after 7:30 a.m.

The race will be starting at “Race Village” located in the parking lots of the Executive Plaza in Hunt Valley. Participants and others will begin arriving at 6 a.m. and the race will start at 8 a.m.

Officials strongly advise drivers to avoid the area between 6 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. because of the road closures.
